The Journey of Kömmerling
Founded in Germany by Karl Kömmerling in 1897, Kömmerling has grown from a small manufacturing business into one of the world’s leading innovators in window and door systems.
For more than a century, the brand has been recognised globally for engineering excellence, pioneering material technologies and long-term commitment to quality, sustainability and design innovation.
Over the decades, Kömmerling expanded across Europe and international markets, helping shape modern uPVC window and door systems through advanced manufacturing, testing and product development.
In 2002, Kömmerling strengthened its commitment to the Australian market by opening its first local warehouse and door operations, supporting the growing demand for high-performance European window and door systems designed for Australian conditions.
Today, Kömmerling products are trusted across residential and commercial projects worldwide, combining German engineering with solutions tailored for modern living.
Since 2012, under the leadership of Dr. Peter Mrosik, Kömmerling has continued to evolve with a strong focus on innovation, sustainability and global growth.
The business has invested heavily in advanced technologies, recycling initiatives, circular economy programs and future-focused manufacturing to support more sustainable building practices worldwide.
In Australia, Kömmerling continues to expand its local presence and product offering. In 2025, the business opened its Australian lamination centre, extending the popular Colours of the Outback range with a broader selection of contemporary finishes and colour options tailored for Australian homes and architectural projects.
Looking ahead to 2026, Kömmerling Australia will introduce WarmCore, a new generation of thermally broken aluminium window and door systems designed to combine premium architectural aesthetics with outstanding thermal performance for Australian living.
